Out North Contemporary Art House presents Bridgman/Packer Dance “Double Expose” and “Under the Skin” at the Discovery Theatre April 29 and 30, 8 p.m. The New Yorker called Bridgman/Packer "witty, sexy, and surreal," and the Boston Globe described it as "the most thrilling dance work this reviewer has seen in recent memory...flat-out exhilarating." But you'll just call it a raging, jaw-dropping good show. Why? Because choreographer/performers Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer, along with a multitude of their video counterparts, blend live camera, animation, and prerecorded urban projected settings in a highly-charged alchemy of the live and the virtual. Movement and video; stories told through visual and kinetic illusions. Co-commissioned by Out North, "Double Expose" presents a fantastical exploration of self, relationship, and the human psyche – heady in concept, perhaps, but in a visceral, stylish and visually stunning way. In “Under the Skin,” the performers and costumes become projection screens creating a morphing of identities and plotlines. Live jazz only boosts the buzz, which just goes to say that these Guggenheim fellows know how to rock the house. The show is family-friendly, yet dynamic, fun, challenging, engaging, even hypnotizing. Don't miss it. This is OUT NORTH’S first foray into the PAC, so show up, show out, and see an amazing show. $35 general admission $25 students/60+/military with ID For more info, contact Dawnell Smith at, 279-8099, etc. 206.
